WMS TRANSITION & OPERATIONAL STABILIZATION
Get the system and the floor working from the same process.
A WMS transition changes how work is released, completed, and recorded. When productivity falls or workarounds accumulate, the team needs a clear view of what is a learning issue, what is a process issue, and what requires technical investigation.
Obsidian Axis Group provides operational support for WMS transitions and stabilization, including experience with Manhattan Active Warehouse Management transition work.
Where we help
Work can include process review, operational readiness, role-based walkthroughs, issue classification, exception ownership, and the operating cadence used during stabilization. The scope defines the interfaces with your implementation team, internal IT, and software provider.
Follow a transaction through the operation.
We examine what the user is trying to accomplish, what the screen or transaction requires, what happens physically, and what the next process receives. The objective is to make a reported problem specific enough for the right owner to investigate and resolve.
What you receive
- An agreed process and handoff map for the work in scope.
- A structured issue list with observations, impact, ownership, and next actions.
- Operational test scenarios and completion checks where included.
- Role-specific instructions and exception guidance where included.
- A stabilization review cadence tied to the measures the operation can use.
An issue needs more than a label.
Illustrative example: “Picking is slow” is a symptom. A useful issue record identifies the affected task, the conditions under which it occurs, the expected behavior, the observed behavior, and the impact on the next process. That makes it easier to decide whether the response belongs with training, operations, configuration review, or technical support.
What your team provides
Access to the agreed workflow, representative users, relevant system documentation, baseline performance information, and named owners who can authorize process or system decisions.
Scope boundaries
This is scoped operational consulting. Software licensing, vendor-certified implementation, custom integration development, production configuration changes, and round-the-clock support are not implied by this page. Any such responsibilities must be expressly agreed with the appropriate technical owners.
How success is agreed
We define the operating baseline, the work included, and the criteria for closing issues. A closed issue should have a verified resolution or an explicitly accepted disposition, rather than disappearing from a list.
Practical questions
Can you work alongside our integrator?
Yes. Roles, decision authority, and the issue handoff are agreed so operations and technical teams work from the same evidence.
Do you replace vendor support?
No. Vendor support and system authority remain with the relevant provider and client owners. Operational findings help those teams investigate specific issues.
Can this include work instructions?
Yes. Standard can translate approved system and process behavior into instructions and exception guidance as part of an agreed scope.
Tell us what changed after go-live.
Describe the workflow, the symptoms, and where your team is compensating outside the system.
